Getting to the Marble Mountains

The mountains are inside Da Nang itself, on the coast road south of the beach strip, so a short Grab ride gets you there from anywhere in the city.

The easiest way: a tour with hotel pickup

Half-day tours pick you up at your Da Nang hotel and pair the mountains with the Lady Buddha on Sơn Trà, or carry on to Hoi An for the evening. Transport and timing are all taken care of.

Going on your own

  • Grab or taxi: the simplest option. It's around 9 km from the city centre, and less from the beach hotels along My Khe. Book to "Ngũ Hành Sơn" and pick the elevator (thang máy) gate if you plan to ride up. Grab bikes are cheaper if you're travelling light.
  • Scooter: follow the coast road south. The mountains are impossible to miss. There's parking by the gates.

Staying in Hoi An?

It's about 20 km up the coast road, with its own options: scooter, stopping on a transfer, and tours with hotel pickup. See visiting from Hoi An.

Getting back

Grab cars and bikes pick up from the gates without trouble in daytime. If you finish late in the afternoon, or at Âm Phủ cave on the far side, walk back to the main road first so the driver can find you easily.

Common questions

Can I walk from the beach?

From hotels at the southern end of the Da Nang beach strip it's a couple of kilometres. A Grab ride takes just a few minutes.

Is it worth combining with Hoi An?

Yes. It's on the way, and a morning at the mountains followed by an afternoon and evening in Hoi An is one of the best days in the area. See visiting from Hoi An.
